Zephyr "Signature Series" Metal Polishing Pastes (Solid Bars)
To achieve a true mirror shine, a good wheel is not enough - you need the right polishing compound . Zephyr's "Signature Series" hard compounds are the standard in the metalworking industry. They are designed to quickly remove scratches and leave a surface that looks like chrome.
Each color has its own meaning and abrasive fraction. To avoid confusion, we have divided them into steps - from aggressive cutting to mirror shine.
🟤 Brown "Tripoli" Pasta (Primary Cutting)
Step 1: Roughing and preparation
This is the most popular starter paste for aluminum . If you have a headlight or wheel that is oxidized or sanded with sandpaper (up to 400-600 grit), start with this.
What it does: Aggressively "cuts" the metal, smoothing the surface and removing oxidation.
Materials: Aluminum, Brass, Copper.
Recommended puck: Orange or Yellow (Hard Ventilated Puck).
Result: A matte but smooth surface, ready for the next step.
🟢 Green "Chrome" Paste (Secondary Cut)
Step 2: Medium Processing (Cutting + Shine)
The most versatile polishing paste . Often used as a "one step for everything" for stainless steel or as a second step for aluminum after brown paste.
What it does: Removes traces of brown paste and starts to build up shine. It's a little drier, which allows for a clearer reflection.
Materials: Stainless Steel, Aluminum.
Recommended puck: Purple/Green or Yellow (Medium hard puck).
Result: A very good shine, which many already consider a finish.
⚪ White "Chrome" Paste (Final Finish)
Step 3: Final processing and clarity
When the surface is smooth, white paste adds the depth and clarity you see in new chrome elements.
What it does: A clean finishing paste that practically no longer "cuts" the metal, but polishes the surface itself for maximum reflection.
Materials: Aluminum, Stainless steel.
Recommended puck: White or Blue (Soft puck).
Result: Bright, clear "OEM" level shine.
🔴 Red "Max Red" Paste (Ultra Finish)
Step 4: Show Finish
This is the "icing on the cake". The red paste is for perfectionists. If you are preparing a car for an exhibition or want to beat your neighbor, this is your choice.
What it does: A jeweler's grade paste that removes even the slightest "haze" or micro-stains left by white paste.
Materials: All metals (in the finishing stage).
Recommended pad: Soft flannel pad (untreated) or very soft ventilated pad.
Result: Flawless mirror shine without "holograms".

For metal polishing paste to work properly:
Don't burn it: Only apply the paste to the rotating disc for 1-2 seconds. That's enough! Too much paste reduces the effectiveness ("blocks" the disc).
Heat is key: The paste contains wax/fat that needs to melt on the metal surface. It is the friction (heat) that makes the paste work chemically.
Cleanliness: Never use the same disc for different pastes (e.g. don't mix brown with white). This will ruin the result.
